Because of its windy nature, it’s not ideal for kayakers, but sailing is very popular here. Instead, it’s an excellent spot for fishing and pleasure boating. Swimming, jet skiing, and water skiing are prohibited on Lake Hefner. For example, Stars and Stripes Park is an excellent all-around option with a lakefront, playgrounds, picnic tables, a gym, and an amazing skate park. Several parks and a marina provide access to the reservoir. It’s one of the city’s most popular lakes offering year-round recreation and outdoor activities.
